Game of Life: New Age Bhagavad Gita

How to Play the Game of Life

What is the Game of Life?
How to become a winner and succeed in life?
What needs to be my goal in life?
What is the secret of everlasting happiness?
What are the habits of happy people?
Who is God?
How do we connect with God?
Is there extraterrestrial life?
Have they visited Earth?
Is there life after death?
Is there heaven and hell?
And €¦€¦€¦

If you have ever pondered over the above questions, then this ancient Indian spiritual book is for you. It is called the Bhagavad Gita. This is my version of the Bhagavad Gita. It reads like a novel and is highly understandable. You don€t need to be a genius to read this book. There is no stanza by stanza translation of the original verses. No abstract, high sounding words. Just plain English. I want my readers to enjoy the chatty style and not scratch their heads trying to figure out what I have written.

What is the Bhagavad Gita?
The Bhagavad Gita (Song of God) is a spiritual dialogue between Lord Krishna, who is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and, the Pandava prince Arjuna. Arjuna, who was one of the foremost archers of the age, is filled with doubts and does not want to fight the enemies who comprise of his relatives, teachers and friends. He turns to Krishna for solace. Krishna responds by explaining to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and prince, elaborating on a variety of philosophical concepts.
Krishna describes the science of self realization and how to establish a relationship with God. There€s a message in the Bhagavad Gita for everyone. It teaches us how to face and solve the eternal problems facing mankind- birth, death, pain, suffering, fear, bondage, love and hate. It explains how to reach a state of perfect mental peace, inner stability and complete freedom from grief, fear and anxiety.

Read on what many famous personalities had to say about the Bhagavad Gita-
Albert Einstein-€œWhen I read the Bhagavad Gita and reflect about how God created this universe, everything seems so superfluous.€
Mahatma Gandhi-€œ When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare at me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to the Bhagavad Gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day.€
Carl Jung- €œThe idea that man is like unto an inverted tree seems to have been current in gone ages. The link with Vedic conceptions is provided by Plato in his Timaeus in which it states €˜behold we are not an earthly but a heavenly planet.€ This correlation can be discerned by what Krishna expresses in the Bhagavad Gita.€
Dr. Albert Schweitzer- €œThe Bhagavad Gita has a profound influence on the spirit of mankind by its devotion to God which is manifested by actions.€
Aldous Huxley-€œThe Bhagavad Gita is the most systematic statement of spiritual evolution of endowing value to mankind. It is one of the most clear and comprehensive summaries of perennial philosophy ever revealed; hence its enduring value is subject not only to India but to all of humanity.€
Herman Hesse- €œThe marvel of the Bhagavad Gita is its truly beautiful revelation of life€s wisdom which enables philosophy to blossom into religion.€
Ralph Waldo Emerson- €œI owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad Gita. It was the first of books; it was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us.€
Henry David Thoreau- €œIn the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmological philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita, in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial.€
