1949 Old Photograph of Child in Iron Lung Hospital

This photograph shows the Monaghan lung at the Willard Parker, New York City, with Dr. Harry Seanor, deputy medical superintendent, fastening the one pound lung on Marc Fresco, 8, to show the difference in size to that of the 700 pound lung demonstrated by nurse Annette Bohrer, 1949.

The photograph is printed using Epson premium glossy archival paper. The detail on the printed photograph is excellent.

Our photographs originate from the National Archives, various federal archives as well as state and city historical archives here in the Pacific Northwest and our own collection of vintage and antique photographs and maps. Additionally, we have agreements to reproduce privately held items. In most instances we scan the photographs, maps or negatives at 800+dpi and produce a digital file that is used for producing prints.

8"x10" photographs are shipped in a heavy mailer. Photographs larger than 8"x 10" are rolled and placed in a protective plastic sleeve and then into a rigid tube that is of a larger diameter than the sleeve. This ensures that an impact to the tube will not be transferred to the image. Photographs may ship via USPS First Class Mail. If you purchase three or more enlargement photographs, we will upgrade to USPS Priority Mail at no extra charge.
